A new solar roof, natural lighting, and rainwater water recycling system are some of the ways that Blue Pearl is pioneering the trail towards energy independence. On its one acre site in LaGrange, Illinois, the main facilty produces cut to size projects on three bridge saws and fifteen finishing tables in a new 10,000 SF indoor plant located aside a large outdoor remnant gallery, and separate showroom/office space renovated from a 1964 salvaged garage.

75% Recycled in a Corn Oil Base
Eco by Cosentino is a durable surface made of 75% post industrial or post consumer materials and is bound by an environmentally friendly resin which comes in part from corn oil. Eco by Cosentino reutilizes materials that have reached the end of their life cycle, thus saving on the creation and consumption of natural resources. Most of the raw materials used in the creation of ECO are recycled porcelin, glass, mirror, stone, crystallized ash and corn based resin.

Blue Pearl Featured Again in Museum of Science & Industry's "Smart Home"
For a second year Blue Pearl is featured in the Museum of Science and Industry's Smart Home. In cooperation with Chicago's top green interior design firm, Verde Design Studio, Blue Pearl fabricated and installed salvaged marble in the master bath. The kitchen countertops are a beautiful Gilasi Recycled Glass a locally made recycled glass material (available at Blue Pearl). The floors of the master bath are fabricated from 1" thick Royal Danby (Vermont), marble salvaged from a Wrigley Building renovation. See also Rinato Recycled Glass from 2009 in Empire Red.

Blue Pearl participates in the 'Green Your Home' panel volunteering its expertise to local community groups interested in brainstorming ideas ways to healthier, eco-friendly and energy efficient building in their communities.
